CHAMELEON 1969 Award Ann Arbor Film Festival

Chameleon was filmed in San Francisco and in Lake Tahoe.  Once again, as in Fragments, the film maker was interested in a formal circular pattern for his film, with a protagonist who wakes again and again from a nightmare.  Like Fragments it combines dream imagery with realism, but here the combination of movement and inter-cutting is more prominent. Production values on this film were minimal -  a hand held camera and a few actors on location in San Francisco and Lake Tahoe. The actor, Jean-Yves Pitoun, became a screen writer and director in Los Angeles.  (American Cuisine)
